BEHIND THE COLLECTION:
Japanese design has long been an inspiration to the R.SPORT team, particularly in the sportswear space. On a quick trip to Tokyo in late 2024, the team were inspired by the colourful array of Taxi's roaming the neon-lit streets of this magnificent city. So much so they decided to design a collection focusing on the quirky patterned and extremely shiny automobiles, coining it the TAXI CUP, TOKYO.
COLLECTION PIECES:
a retro football inspired jersey which is a blend of four different colourfully patterned Taxis synonymous to Tokyo, including sleeve tape referencing the white and grey checkered pattern present on many of the black taxis.
a retro style rugby polo with subtle detailing from the more commonly spotted black and grey taxis
Baggy parachute style track pants also including the white and grey tape down the side
1/2 to 3/4 length sports shorts also including the white and grey tape down the side
The Tokyo team crest on the left upper chest of both Jersey and Polo is a subtle nod to the J LEAGUE logo aka the Japanese National Football League, who have a history of flamboyant jersey designs that jersey fanatics around the world would appreciate.
